Popular article directories promise exposure not only for their site visitors, but far than that to other site’s owners and ezine publishers. While you can certainly submit and forget and let the directories do the work, I’ll reveal a method that can help you increase your exposure tremendously.

Don’t get me wrong. Article directories have given me great results. I get direct traffic from them, my articles are used in ezines and forwarded to other readers as well. I can’t be happier.

However, what I learned over the years is that by limiting the article distribution to one or a few article directories, I’m not getting the most out of article marketing. The Internet is too huge for any site to dominate on their own.

I recommend against going every where with only one article. That certainly won’t work, especially with the search engine penalty over duplicate content nowadays. That doesn’t mean that you can’t post it more than once though.

What I suggest is to always seek for new distribution channels for your articles. The opportunities are wide open. If you can reach more prospects and customers who otherwise can’t be reached via your existing distribution channels, why should you avoid them?

After all, you already wrote the content once. You may have to rewrite that or make it longer or in different format, but compare to the results you’ll get, that is a no brainer.

So go ahead, keep doing what you already do but try to expand your reach. You may not believe what you see, but the sky actually is the limit.
