Just because you will yourself to perform an action for 30 days, does not mean that you have created a habit. By definition, a habit is what guides your actions when you are not acting consciously, and therefore habits are domain of your subconscious mind.

Internet article marketing is growing by leaps and bounds. And, the other day when reviewing my article writing statistics, I realized how much Internet article marketing and fishing had in common.

Within Internet article marketing, there are numerous categories or topics. Depending upon your business focus, you can write articles on:

  • Business General
  • Business Sales
  • Business Ethics
  • Business Customer Service
  • Business Strategic Planning
  • Business Top 7 or Top 10 Tips
  • Self Improvement General
  • Self Improvement Attitudes
  • Self Improvement Coaching
  • Self Improvement Leadership
  • Self Improvement Goal Setting
  • Self Improvement Time Management
  • Self Improvement Success

Now think of each of these categories as favorite fishing ponds with different types of fish. And your bait is your articles. You know that you have a bite when a fish strikes the bit or clicks through to your website.

It’s summer for those of us in the US and Europe. The sun is shining. The days are longer. We feel energized. Are you enjoying the classic joys of summer? Eating a dripping ice cream cone on a blazing, hot day, diving into a cool pool and walking barefoot on lush green grass? Or are you overwhelmed, overworked and overly stressed? Summer is a great time to regroup. Most of us keep different schedules for summer. We will make more trips, socialize more, and dress more casually. As a result our way of thinking loosens up a bit too, giving way to bursts of creativity and joy. Would you like to have a memorable summer as well as continue to experience personal and professional success?

In the personal development world there’s a commonly received wisdom that goal setting is a requirement for success in almost every endeavor. And not just any old goals, these must be SMART goals: specific, measurable, achievable, rewarding and time bound. But what if there was another way - a DUMB way?
This article looks at how it sometimes can be smart to be D.U.M.B. where goal setting is concerned.

The chapter on desire in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill contains a formula for what he calls “transforming desire into money,” however, this method really could be used to transform desire into pretty much anything you pick. In his own words, here are the six steps:

First. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount.

Second. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.”)

Let’s say that you had a friend that lived in another state and was considering changing schools based on what’s happening at his current school. Would you have a clear perspective on what a good training environment is supposed to be to help him make the right decision?

Each week, I receive emails from two types of grapplers; grapplers that love the places where they train and grapplers that hate it but refuse to leave for various reasons.

That led me to a burning question: are their warning signs for a bad training environment and what are they? And after careful thought, I created The Wise Grappler’s “10 Signs Your Training Environment Sucks” Checklist.
