Social networking is one of the best methods for marketing on the Internet. Most social networking sites have a large user base (millions of users!). Imagine tapping into just a small percentage of this user base. That’s a lot of traffic for your Internet business. Using social networking to boost your business requires some considerable know-how, but can be easily achieved using these 3 simple steps:

Step #1: Create a blog

Most social networking sites like MySpace allow you to create a blog where you can make posts on a regular basis. A blog allows you to interact with your visitors and gives your business a highly personal touch. You can post videos and podcasts on your blog, newsletter issues and free reports. Invite your visitors to leave comments. Invite them to participate as much as possible.

Step #2: Build a huge friends list

Add all the friends that you know of and then build your friends list further by searching for interests. Add those people who have interests that are related to your business. If they accept your invitation, they will be included in your friends list and can gain access to your profile, blog and bulletins.

Step #3: Post regular updates

Post bulletins to update your friends about the latest happenings in your business (the newest product launch, the newest free report etc). Post new content to your blog such as videos or useful resources. Invite your friends to subscribe to your newsletter. Keep building your friends list and keep them updated!
